-
La Cucina Collaborativa is born as a short, yet meaningful, research experience of the Design Policy Lab – Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano, funded by EIT Food within the Cross-KIC Call for Proposal for Citizen Engagement.

The project represents a successful experimental practice in Reggio Emilia, receiving awards at the regional, national and international levels as an exemplar in the field of food donation and design. Working within a region that is the cradle of the cooperative world and volunteering, the success of the project is largely due to the collaboration and support network that we, as a research team, were able to draw upon.

First of all, thanks go to Caritas, as the main partner of the project, in particular to Andrea Gollini, Marco Colombo, Dario Rossi, Serena Masiero, Giorgio Ghirelli, and all the staff and volunteers that have contributed with their knowledge and experience to all the project activities. Special thanks go to those who experience first-hand the services offered by Caritas through the canteens, the food packs distribution centres and solidarity emporiums, without whom the realisation of the project would not have been possible.

It is also worth mentioning those who supplied us with support during workshops and dissemination events: Reggio Children, Fondazione Reggio Children, Pause – Atelier dei Sapori and Laboratorio Aperto dei Chiostri di S. Pietro. In addition, the Comune di Reggio Emilia, Fondazione E35 and Regione Emilia Romagna, with whom we considered the territorial impact of the project and its potential scalability.
