•
Renewable energy education programmes in schools are increasingly recognised as a means to promote environmental awareness among students and foster sustainable practices. A systematic literature review was conducted using databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science to identify relevant studies. Quantitative data from these studies were analysed for trends and patterns. Student participation rates varied significantly across different regions in Nigeria, with a notable trend towards higher engagement in urban areas compared to rural settings (rural: 45%, urban: 60%). The findings highlight the importance of tailored educational strategies based on regional context for effective renewable energy education. Schools and educators should prioritise engagement activities that resonate with students in their specific environments to enhance knowledge acquisition and participation. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
