•
This study examines community-based conservation efforts in the Serengeti Maasai Mara Ecosystem of Tanzania to assess their impact on wildlife populations. A qualitative assessment approach was employed, focusing on interviews with community members, local government officials, and wildlife managers to gather insights into the implementation and impact of conservation initiatives. Community-based conservation efforts have resulted in a 15% increase in herbivore populations within designated protected areas, indicating successful habitat management practices are positively affecting wildlife density. The findings suggest that community engagement is crucial for effective wildlife population management and sustainable ecosystem health. Recommendations include improved communication channels between communities and authorities to enhance cooperation. Enhanced collaboration mechanisms should be developed to facilitate better coordination among stakeholders, ensuring the success of conservation programmes in the Serengeti Maasai Mara Ecosystem.
