- <p><em>Czech description:</em></p> <p>Text z roku 1968 kriticky hodnotí tehdejší ediční praxi při vydávání děl Tomáše Garrigua Masaryka a Emanuela Rádla. Autor poukazuje na to, že po dvacetileté pauze se sice objevují první vlaštovky, jako jsou Ideály humanitní, ale celková situace je neuspokojivá. Ústav T. G. Masaryka, jako držitel dispozičních práv, brání iniciativám jiných nakladatelství vydávat dílčí texty nebo výbory, čímž proces zpřístupnění Masarykova odkazu neúměrně prodlužuje – tehdejší odhady hovořily o 15 až 25 letech. Text srovnává tuto situaci s osudem Rádlových spisů, jejichž vydávání rovněž ustrnulo kvůli restriktivnímu přístupu k právům. Autor vyzývá k okamžité nápravě, větší pružnosti institucí a zapojení nakladatelství jako Academia. Zdůrazňuje nutnost přednostně vydávat nedostupné a významné texty, které by měly sloužit jako základ pro hlubokou kritickou reflexi Masarykova myšlení, namísto pouhého nekritického přijímání hesel. G. Masaryk and Emanuel Rádl. The author notes that after a twenty-year hiatus, while titles like Ideals of Humanity have begun to reappear, the overall progress remains disastrously slow. The T. G. Masaryk Institute, holding the copyrights, is accused of blocking initiatives from various publishing houses to release shorter texts or selections. This centralized control threatened to delay the publication of a complete edition by up to 25 years. The author draws a parallel with the neglected works of Emanuel Rádl, which suffered a similar fate due to restrictive publishing rights. The essay calls for an immediate change in policy, urging the Institute and publishers like Academia to expedite the release of rare and significant texts. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for critical scholarly studies to re-evaluate Masaryk's legacy and his concept of humanism, arguing against superficial reverence in favor of a rigorous intellectual revision relevant to the contemporary era.</p>
