•
INSTRUCTION: Unzip Data_Corrected.zip to view the dataset. This is a corrected version (rev1) of our published dataset: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17488371

Supplementary Data for Effects of Nanoparticles and Surfactants on Hydrometeor Behavior.

Data is separated into three main folders with the following directory structure:

Data
|
|Camera1
||
||TimeData
|||
|||[E3_RX_[FluidType]_[NeedleColor]_M_D_Y] x72
|||
||CharacteristicShapes_Cam1.csv
||
||Properties_Cam1.csv
||
|Camera2
||
||TimeData
|||
|||[E3_RX_[FluidType]_[NeedleColor]_M_D_Y] x72
|||
||CharacteristicShapes_Cam2.csv
||
||Properties_Cam2.csv
||
|SpectraData
||
||SpectraData.csv
||
|Readme.txt

Video IDs:
The data of each video has an ID associated with it with format:
E3_RX_[FluidType]_[NeedleColor]_M_D_Y

E3 - all trials have this identifier. These were the third set of experiments preformed with the constructed wind tunnel.

RX - the replicate number. There are three replicates for each fluid type and needle number with X = 1, 2, or 3. The numbering is arbitrary. There are three exceptions to the replicate numbering scheme:
E3_R3_S1_Purple_7_11_2024
E3_R4_S1_Purple_7_11_2024
E3_R5_S1_Purple_7_11_2024
where R3, R4, and R5 are the three replicates for the Purple needle with the S1 fluid type. There are no R1 or R2 since the videos were reshot to improve data reliability.

[FluidType] - the fluid composition of the drop. There are eight types with the physical property of each discussed within the main body of the publication:
DW - Distilled water
S1 - Distilled water with 0.02% Triton X-100
N1 - Distilled water with 1% silicon dioxide
N1S1 - Distilled water with 1% silicon dioxide and 0.02% Triton X-100
N2 - Distilled water with 0.5% silicon dioxide
N2S1 - Distilled water with 0.5% silicon dioxide and 0.02% Triton X-100
N3 - Distilled water with 0.1% silicon dioxide
N3S1 - Distilled water with 0.1% silicon dioxide and 0.02% Triton X-100

[NeedleColor] - The color of the needle from where the drop was released which corresponds different internal diameters discussed within the main body of the publication:
Olive - 1.6 mm
Green - 1.19 mm
Purple - 0.84 mm

M_D_Y - the month, day, and year each trial video was shot.

File contents:
CharacteristicShapes_CamX.csv - where X = 1 or 2 for either camera. This table contains parameters of the characteristic shape. Additionally, time-average volume equivalent diameter and are equivalent diameter are included.

Properties_CamX.csv - where X = 1 or 2 for either camera. This table contains frame rate information, number of total frames shot, and resolutions of the cameras. All camera 1 trials have the same resolution as do all camera 2 trials as discussed in the main body of the publication.

SpectraData.csv - this table contains the normalized Axisymmetric, Horizontal, and Transverse, as well as n=3 amplitudes from the frequency spectra which correspond to the data in the publication. A value of "0" indicates that the given mode was not noted in the spectra. Extracted frequencies for each are also listed. Camera 1 data was used in most cases. In select trials, camera 2 data was used instead due to better recovery as compared to camera 1 counterpart.

E3_RX_[FluidType]_[NeedleColor]_M_D_Y - These are tables which contain measurements for the binarized drop at each frame.
