  • <p>Community forest management (CFM) models are increasingly adopted in West African rainforest areas to promote sustainable timber production and conservation. A mixed-methods approach combining field surveys, interviews with stakeholders, and econometric analysis to assess forest yields, community income, and socio-economic changes. Local communities reported an increase in average annual income of 15% compared to pre-CFM levels, attributed to diversified agroforestry practices integrated into CFM models. CFM models have contributed positively to local economies by diversifying livelihoods and fostering community engagement in forest conservation efforts. Policy recommendations include promoting equitable resource access and management rights for communities, enhancing institutional support for sustainable practices, and integrating traditional knowledge into modern forestry policies.
