The failure to present real facts or their distorted representation, as a social and psychological phenomenon, is evident in all spheres of social life, but it carries particular weight when it occurs within the operations<span> </span>of the security, counterintelligence, and intelligence agencies. In such circumstances, the accuracy, objectivity, and validity of the gathered and presented operational and intelligence insights are of crucial importance—not only for establishing the facts but also for making timely, objective, and high-quality security assessments.</span></p> </div> <p><span lang="EN-US">One of the measures for the prevention and control of the human resources potential in the security services, which on a daily basis come into contact with classified data and information of special importance to the security of the state, is precisely the application of polygraph testing of employees in the security services.</span></p> <p><span lang="EN-US">With the adoption of the Law on the National Security Agency (Article 67), mandatory<span> </span>polygraph testing<span> </span>is prescribed for candidates applying<span> </span>for employment, as well as polygraph testing for verifying the professional integrity of already employed personnel during their employment in the Agency, subject to their prior written consent.</span></p> <p><span lang="EN-US"> </span></p> <p><strong><em><span lang="EN-US">Keywords:<span> </span></span></em></strong><span lang="EN-US">polygraph,<span> </span>polygraph<span> </span>testing,<span> </span>security<span> </span><span>services</span></span></p>
