-
This Policy Brief examines the impact of social safety nets on food security among Senegalese livestock farmers in Cape Verde. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data analysis was employed. Senegalese farmers reported a significant increase in livestock productivity by 15% following the introduction of social safety nets, leading to improved food security. The findings suggest that targeted interventions can enhance both livelihoods and community resilience. Policy makers should prioritise the expansion and monitoring of existing social safety net programmes for maximum impact.
