-
Land tenure systems in Mozambique are characterized by a mix of customary and formal land rights, influencing agricultural investment dynamics. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative case studies with quantitative data analysis using regression models. Customary land holders exhibit a higher proportion (35%) of agricultural investments compared to formal land owners (20%), indicating significant disparities in investment opportunities based on tenure type. The study highlights the importance of understanding both formal and customary land rights for effective agricultural policy development in Mozambique. Policy makers should consider implementing incentives for customary land holders to increase their participation in modern agricultural practices. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
