  • <p>This repository provides the complete version of the JSMel dataset, including melody data for both public domain (PD) songs and non-public domain (non-PD) songs.</p> <p>The full dataset contains symbolic melody representations for 960 songs widely transmitted across generations in contemporary Japan. Each melody is represented by two symbolic sequence files:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Pitch sequence file: note pitches encoded in ABC format with octave information</p> </li> <li> <p>Duration sequence file: note and rest durations expressed relative to a quarter note</p> </li> </ul> <p>Because many songs in the dataset are still under copyright protection, the melody data for non-PD songs are not publicly accessible.</p> <p>Access to these restricted files is provided only for non-commercial academic research purposes under the following procedure:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Researchers must complete and submit the Application Form provided in the Supplementary Materials of the associated article (see Publishing information).</p> </li> <li> <p>The application must describe:</p> <ul> <li> <p>the research purpose,</p> </li> <li> <p>the intended use of the dataset,</p> </li> <li> <p>and the data management procedures.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p>The application will be reviewed by the authors.</p> </li> <li> <p>If approved, the applicant must sign a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) specifying the conditions of use.</p> </li> <li> <p>After the MTA has been executed, restricted access to the dataset will be granted through this repository.</p> </li> </ol> <p>The conditions of use prohibit redistribution of the data and sharing with third parties. Requests for access should be sent to the corresponding author listed in the associated publication.</p>
