•
su2-3d-lgt-metropolis is a research software release for controlled static-potential extraction in three-dimensional SU(2) lattice gauge theory with the Wilson action.

This release contains:
- C++ simulation code for Metropolis updates and Wilson-loop measurements
- Python analysis scripts for APE smearing, effective-potential construction, plateau extraction, Cornell-type fitting, finite-volume checks, and scaling plots
- benchmark summary figures and CSV files used in the associated manuscript

Main scientific result:
This release supports a controlled benchmark study of static-potential extraction in 3D SU(2) lattice gauge theory and identifies the lattice-volume regime in which the smearing-improved Cornell-type string-tension extraction becomes stable. In particular, the beta = 5.0 analysis shows a significant shift between L = 12 and L = 14, followed by stabilization between L = 14 and L = 16, while at beta = 5.5 the preferred Cornell-type parameters are already stable between L = 14 and L = 16 within present uncertainties.

Reproducibility:
The repository includes README instructions for building the C++ code, running the main simulations, and reproducing the benchmark analysis figures and tables from the Python scripts.
