•
The Metabolic Tzolkin Operating System (MTOS) is a computational simulation framework designed to explore attention dynamics within cyclic temporal environments.

The model is inspired by the 260-step temporal structure formed by the interaction of two periodic sequences: a 20-element archetypal cycle ("seals") and a 13-phase oscillatory cycle ("tones"). Each point within this structure defines a specific cognitive context influencing attention behavior.

MTOS models attention as a bounded dynamic variable influenced by multiple interacting processes:

archetypal resonance between agents and temporal states

oscillatory modulation from a 13-phase tone cycle

fatigue-regulated attention metabolism

adaptive learning from historical attention trajectories

collective attention field feedback

dynamic social interaction networks

The system produces simulations of attention trajectories across the 260-day cycle and computes metrics characterizing system behavior, including entropy, chaos indicators, Lyapunov approximations, and predictability horizons.

In addition to individual simulations, MTOS also models collective attention fields and dynamic interaction networks between agents, allowing exploration of emergent cognitive patterns in temporal environments.

The framework is intended as an experimental computational model for investigating cyclic cognitive systems rather than as a deterministic predictive tool.

All simulations are reproducible through deterministic initialization and open code implementation.

Code availability

The MTOS simulation engine is available as open-source software on GitHub:

https://github.com/ElvisDead/MTOS
