- The crime rate in India is rising gradually. The most shocking fact of this gradual rise is that it can be seen increasing in the country's young generation. According to the data and statistics, there is a massive leap in the rate of juvenile delinquency in the last decade in developing countries like India. Delinquent children are considered to be antisocial and often involved in criminal misconduct. Juveniles can be defined as someone below 18 years of age and cannot be treated as adults or majors according to the law for the criminal offences committed by them. Today's children are the future captains of our society, but various factors like abusive households, parental alcoholism, child trafficking, and poor mental health compel these children to walk on the path of crimes where they get involved with the judicial system. The continuous rise of minor crime in society has become an alarming concern for the common society as well as the law system of the country. This research explores the factors that contribute to the trend of juvenile misconduct. It also aims to address the root cause of juvenile delinquency to intervene effectively and prevent its occurrence through juvenile laws. It stresses the need for juvenile treatment and rehabilitation in India. Keywords: Juvenile, Delinquency, Crime rate, Child trafficking, Adolescent misconduct, Rehabilitation, Juvenile laws.
