- We introduce a cross-scale framework connecting Assembly Theory, Landauer's principle, and thermodynamic entropy production. We define the information solidification efficiency λ ≡ I_struct · k_B T ln 2 / ΔG_total, quantifying how efficiently physical systems convert free energy into durable structural information. We show λ < 1 universally—a direct consequence of the Landauer-Bennett framework applied to realistic exploratory processes. By combining λ with Chaisson's mass-specific free energy rate density Φ_m, we propose Φ_m × λ as a unified metric for the rate of structural information creation across scales from molecular replication to technological civilization.
