•
Digital health platforms have emerged as a promising tool in enhancing access to healthcare services, particularly for underserved populations such as pregnant women in urban areas. A comprehensive literature review was conducted, synthesizing existing studies on digital health platforms, pregnancy care, and societal factors affecting their uptake. The analysis revealed a significant proportion (45%) of pregnant women in urban Rwanda were active users of digital health platforms, with notable variations in usage patterns across different socio-economic groups. Digital health platforms hold considerable promise for improving maternal health outcomes in urban Senegalese contexts but require tailored interventions to address specific user needs and challenges. Policy-makers should prioritise the development of culturally sensitive digital health solutions and encourage community engagement to maximise platform effectiveness. digital health, pregnancy care, urbanization, Senegal, Rwanda
