Tan Y.Y., October 26, 2024.</p><p><b>Description.</b> D1 VI; D2 I,7; A I, 7–8; P 15–16; LS 24–26; TRB 7; PDS 9. Head depressed; snout rounded. Mouth subterminal, oblique, upper lip and snout anteriormost; jaw reaching back to below anterior half of eye. Head pores present; sensory papillae in longitudinal pattern. Predorsal area covered with cycloid scales, extending anteriorly to posterior of eyes, larger scale behind eyes; cheek naked; opercle scaled. Body slender, compressed anteriorly, more compressed posteriorly, covered by ctenoid scales. Prepectoral area and prepelvic area naked, belly covered with cycloid scales; body scales ctenoid to behind pectoral fin. First dorsal fin rounded, second or third spine longest; second dorsal fin moderate, rounded posteriorly; anal fin moderate, rounded posteriorly; pectoral fin oval; pelvic fin rounded; caudal fin rounded. Head and body yellowish grey, white ventrally, black spots extended ventrally from eye margin towards posterior jaw margin; trunk with scale margin outlined with brown spots, midline with faint dark brown spots; first dorsal fin translucent to transparent, pale grey near fin base; second dorsal fin and anal fin translucent with minute black spots, more concentrated near margin forming indistinct submarginal band, white margin; pectoral fin translucent; pelvic fin translucent; caudal fin transparent.</p><p><b>Habitat.</b> Meromictic lake with sandy–muddy substrates.</p><p><b>Remarks.</b> This species is a new record for Peninsular Malaysia.</p>
