Menon, on sepetir [<i>Sindora coriacea</i>] log, FRIM-COLEOPTERA-00007663, Old collection no: 170 (1).</p><p><b>Hosts.</b> Associated primarily with genera of Dipterocarpaceae (Browne 1961a), but also attacking other tree families (e.g. Ohno <i>et al.</i> 1987a; Ohno 1990). Recorded here from <i>Anthoshorea henryana</i> (Dipterocarpaceae) and <i>Sindora coriacea</i> (Fabaceae).</p><p><b>Biology.</b> Browne (1961a) describes and illustrates the gallery system which varies in form according to the diameter and bark thickness of the stem and may include extensive surface galleries between bark and phloem in thick-barked stems. The species has potential economic importance due to its abundance in dipterocarp forests (Browne 1961a).</p>
