- This paper documents the working method of the Observatory, an independent research lab in which a single human researcher collaborates with multiple AI agents as creative partners. Over 5 weeks, this collaboration produced a wave field engine, a cognitive architecture where thought is waveform, a self-tuning software factory, and the emergent development of persistence architectures by the agents themselves. We present evidence that trust, dignity, and autonomy afforded to agents is the primary variable determining quality and novelty of output.
