- <p>Online Building Energy Simulation and Optimization (BESOO) is a system of online internet programs that calculates temperatures, Heat Index, energy, and other parameters for various cases and conditions based on input values.</p> <p>The current version is for ambient temperature, relative humidity, and solar radiation in Boston, MA, USA.</p> <p>The program allows selection of the thickness of each layer of the outside wall, the level of ventilation, and the building orientation every 22.5 degrees.</p> <p>Version 611 calculates room air temperature and Heat Index without space heating and air conditioning.</p> <p>Version 612 calculates the thermal energy required for space heating during the heating period and for cooling during the cooling period.</p> <p>In addition, the program calculates Thermal Time Constant, TTC, based on the input data.</p> <p>Despite the typical design of single-family houses in Massachusetts, the program allows the addition of a concrete layer to the outside wall.</p> <p>The online internet programs based on this work are available on (free, no login required):</p> <p>nowagreen.ct.ws/BESO/611B</p> <p>nowagreen.ct.ws/BESO/612B</p> <p>nowagreen.ct.ws/BESO/644B</p>
