This paper explores the issue of corruption from the perspective of anti-corruption models during the presidency of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO). One of AMLO's main talking points was the need to combat corruption peacefully, using the phrase "hugs, not bullets." He created two programs aimed at reducing the problem. This paper descriptively examines and critically reviews Mexico's position on the international stage, concluding that the programs failed to impact Transparency International's ranking. Therefore, it concludes that anti-corruption policies must be accompanied by other mechanisms for clearly positioning the State to achieve effective results.
