In the last quarter of the 16th century, different groups of slave minstrels, made up of a variable number of instrumentalists of different origins, were at the service of the royal galley, a maritime emblem of the magnificence and power of the Spanish monarchy. As an ensemble independent of the trumpets and drums, they will play a varied repertoire, both sacred and secular, with a wide range of musical instruments.
