- <p class="MsoNormal"><span>Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping the landscape of higher education. This paper reviews empirical studies from 2020 to 2025, examining AI's role in enhancing learning outcomes, addressing barriers to its integration, and exploring emerging trends. The review synthesizes findings from over 30 studies, focusing on AI applications such as personalized learning, teaching automation, and administrative support. While AI enhances engagement, academic performance, and content mastery, challenges related to ethics, digital literacy, and institutional readiness persist. Emerging trends point to AI as an active collaborator in the educational process, with a growing need for AI literacy programs and ethical frameworks. This review offers insights into how AI can transform education while addressing the critical barriers that need resolution for successful implementation.</span></p>
