-
This study examines the impact of media on adolescent psychology, focusing on cognitive, emotional, and social development in the context of increasing digital media use. Recent literature suggests that social media and digital platforms significantly influence adolescents’ mental health, identity formation, attention span, and interpersonal relationships. While excessive media use is associated with anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and reduced academic performance, moderate and purposeful engagement can support learning, creativity, and social connection. The findings highlight that media effects are not uniform but depend on usage patterns, content type, and individual vulnerability. The study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy and balanced media consumption in promoting healthy psychological development among adolescents in the digital age.
