The study examines theoretical frameworks of cognitive linguistics, especially conceptual metaphor theory (Lakoff and Johnson, 1980) and frame semantics (Fillmore, 1982). Additionally, it drawn on how PUs encode cultural knowledge, cognitive structures, and emotional meaning within dramatic dialogue. The analysis reveals that phraseological units in dramatic discourse are not merely stylistic ornaments but function as conceptual tools through which characters construct, negotiate, and project meaning. Comparative observations between English and Uzbek dramatic texts highlight both universal cognitive patterns and culture-specific conceptualizations. The findings contribute to understanding of the relationship between language, cognition, and dramatic communication.
