•
This dataset reports findings from a multilingual, interviewer-assisted survey (n = 141) conducted across five homelessness day centres in Berlin between March and April 2022. The survey formed one component of a broader mixed-methods research project on homelessness and digital media use in Berlin. Eligible participants were day-centre users who had experienced FEANTSA ETHOS categories 1–8 or 11–12 for at least one night during the previous 12 months. Co-developed with unhoused collaborators and informed by ethnographic fieldwork, the survey instrument adapts established measures from digital divide research to the context of homelessness, draws on prior research on homelessness and digital media, and includes items specific to the Berlin/Germany context.

The public dataset contains 141 completed survey cases. Dissertation analyses use a corrected 138-case analytic sample, excluding three respondents who reported only sleeping in a flat with their own rental contract during the reference period. The corresponding filter variable is included in both the .sav file and the accompanying .sps syntax.

Supplementary files include the survey instrument, the SPSS .sav dataset, a readme describing data handling and coding decisions, and an SPSS syntax file reproducing modified Poisson regression analyses for the outcomes Smartphone Loss and SIM Registration.
