However, the effectiveness of initiative depends on the existing financial literacy among rural citizens. This study examines the extent of financial literacy among rural areas in Satara district of Maharashtra. The study focuses on basic government documents, saving-spending behaviour, credit usage, investment awareness and channels, and financial planning practices. The study includes primary data collected through structured interviews of 30 respondents aged from 20 to 65 years. The study reveals high basic financial inclusion and responsible credit behaviour, but limited awareness and confidence regarding investment channels.
