-
This article examines the influence of English lexical borrowings in Uzbek youth internet discourse and their sociolinguistic and lexicographic implications. The rapid expansion of digital communication platforms in Uzbekistan has created new linguistic environments where English-origin vocabulary is widely used by younger speakers in online interaction. Drawing on theories of language contact and digital sociolinguistics, the study reviews existing research on English influence in Turkic languages and analyzes how English lexical items are integrated into Uzbek morphological structures.

Special attention is given to the emergence of an intergenerational comprehension gap, as digital anglicisms used by youth may remain unfamiliar to older speakers. The article also highlights limitations in current Uzbek lexicographic practice, which insufficiently documents rapidly evolving internet vocabulary. The study emphasizes the need for corpus-based research and modern lexicographic approaches to better describe ongoing lexical change in Uzbek digital discourse.
