•
High productivity and sustainability in horticulture depend on effective water and fertilizer management. A significant development in contemporary agriculture is precision fertigation, which combines fertilization and irrigation with cutting-edge technologies. It makes it possible to supply water-soluble nutrients in exact amounts and at the appropriate times straight to the plant root zone. Crop production and quality are improved, losses are decreased, and fertilizer usage efficiency is increased. Precision fertigation systems are further strengthened by the use of sensors, automation, and decision-support technologies. This article highlights precision fertigation's significance in sustainable crop production by examining its concepts, methods, benefits, difficulties, and hopes for the future in horticulture.
