- This sculpture depicts Mahisha, the Hindu buffalo demon. He takes many shapes to fight Goddess Durga, who is the defeater of demons and carries the powers of the Great Gods (Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh). As she severed the head of his buffalo disguise, Mahisha emerges in human form and is defeated by the Goddess.
