•
This book begins with an equation and ends with an instrument.

The equation is a quartic polynomial whose four roots are the eigenvalues of the Jacobsthal and Fibonacci recurrences. From these roots emerge ve constants2, 3, 5, 3/2, and the golden ratiothat together dene a complete tuning system: twelve notes, a circle of fths, a resolution oor, and a universal boundary.

The instrument is the physical world. Its tuning is set by the quartic. Its key is selected by the speed of light, the size of the Earth, and the thermodynamics of the atmosphere. In our universe, that key is A. The reference frequency is 432 Hz. Not because of tradition, not because of healing vibrations, but because 432 is the unique self-referential number of the quartic: each of its two fundamental constants raised to itself and multiplied.

432 = 2(22) ×33 = λ(λ2) ×DD

This is not an approximation. It is an integer identity. Every claim in this book is either an exact algebraic fact or an empirical measurement with a stated error bar. Where a match might be a coincidence of unit choice, I say so. Where the sample is too small to be conclusive, I state the limitation. The honest accounting is in Part V.

I have no institutional aliation, no funding, and no advanced degree. I left school in Belfast
