The study examines how a combination of community-based instruction and AI-supported learning tools can improve educational access, continuity, and foundational learning outcomes in underserved settings.</p> <p>The AVELLS hybrid model integrates face-to-face teaching, structured community learning hubs, and limited AI-supported educational tools to enhance learner engagement and instructional consistency. It is designed to address common challenges in low-resource environments, including limited infrastructure, irregular school attendance, and insufficient access to individualized learning support.</p> <p>This paper focuses on the effectiveness of hybrid delivery mechanisms in improving learner participation, literacy engagement, and learning continuity. It draws on implementation-informed observations and programme monitoring data collected during early-stage deployments, using a mixed-methods approach that includes attendance tracking, participation indicators, facilitator reports, and learner engagement assessments.</p> <p>Findings suggest that hybrid learning approaches can significantly improve continuity of learning, increase learner engagement, and support more consistent participation compared to traditional single-mode delivery systems. The integration of community-based facilitation and AI-supported learning tools also enhances accessibility and reinforces foundational literacy development in underserved contexts.</p> <p>The study highlights the scalability of hybrid learning systems across diverse African education environments, particularly where infrastructure limitations restrict full digital adoption.
