In this review, the critical aspect of the human resource practices and their capacity to influence the employee engagement<span> </span>in<span> </span>the<span> </span>digitally<span> </span>transforming<span> </span>workplaces<span> </span>is<span> </span>critically<span> </span>discussed,<span> </span>and<span> </span>the<span> </span>interaction<span> </span>between<span> </span>the<span> </span>digital <span>culture</span><span> </span><span>and</span><span> </span><span>the</span><span> </span><span>ethics</span><span> </span><span>and</span><span> </span><span>the</span><span> </span><span>social</span><span> </span><span>change</span><span> </span><span>in</span><span> </span><span>general</span><span> </span><span>is</span><span> </span><span>also</span><span> </span><span>considered.</span><span> </span><span>Using</span><span> </span><span>interdisciplinary</span><span> </span><span>research</span><span> </span><span>approaches</span> <span>in the social sciences, humanities, psychology and technology studies, the article summarizes the evidence regarding</span> the<span> </span>beneficial<span> </span>effects<span> </span>of<span> </span>digital<span> </span>HR<span> </span>systems,<span> </span>algorithm<span> </span>management,<span> </span>and<span> </span>leadership<span> </span>practices<span> </span>on<span> </span>engagement,<span> </span>well- being, and organizational belonging. The review notes that engagement of the employees in the digital situations comes out as a process that is culturally instilled and ethically meditated as opposed to an outcome of individual<span> </span>or performance based. The key elements of reducing risks related to technostress, surveillance, and exclusion and <span>facilitating</span><span> </span><span>sustainable</span><span> </span><span>engagement</span><span> </span><span>are</span><span> </span><span>named</span><span> </span><span>as</span><span> </span><span>ethical</span><span> </span><span>governance,</span><span> </span><span>trust</span><span> </span><span>and</span><span> </span><span>human-centered</span><span> </span><span>design.</span><span> </span><span>On</span><span> </span><span>a</span><span> </span><span>societal</span> level, the analysis places digitally mediated workplaces in the context of continuing changes in the nature of labor practice, development of skills and cultural literacy. The results highlight why it is important to consider digital workplaces as locations of cultural production, moral negotiation and social responsibility.</span></em></strong></p>
