- Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most influential technological innovations in modern education, particularly in English language teaching. AI-powered tools such as virtual assistants, chatbots, grammar checkers, and adaptive learning platforms support teachers in improving instructional quality and increasing student engagement. This article discusses the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of AI into English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. The study highlights the advantages of AI, including personalized learning, immediate feedback, flexible access to educational resources, and improved classroom management. At the same time, it examines challenges such as teachers' lack of technological competence, ethical concerns about data privacy, overreliance on technology, and the potential reduction of human interaction in language learning environments. The article argues that AI should be viewed as a supportive educational tool rather than a replacement for teachers. Human interaction, creativity, and emotional intelligence remain essential components of effective language instruction. The paper concludes that the balanced and responsible integration of AI can significantly enhance English language teaching when combined with pedagogical expertise and proper teacher training.
