- <p><b><i>Lepetella</i> sp.—new record</b></p><p>(Figure 3 C, D)</p><p>Cocculinidae sp. 3834: Jay, 2014.</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Réunion and northern Zululand (off Kosi Bay) to central KwaZulu-Natal (off Umlaas Canal); 50– 250 m (no data for living specimens).</p><p><b>Notes.</b> Local material comprises only dead shells. Since it is evidently impossible to identify <i>Lepetella</i> species using shell characters alone (Dantart & Luque 1994), further progress in identifying South African specimens must await the collection of living specimens. These are usually to be found in or on the tubes of polychaete worms (Hickman 1983).</p>
