As revealed in this study, no external and morphological differences were observed between the populations from Turkey, Iran and Transcaucasia. The type of D. ledereri was also compared with non-type specimens of D. persa collected in Iran and no differences were found. Therefore, D. persa is being considered as junior synonym of D. ledereri.

Distribution. Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Israel, Turkey, Azerbaijan (Staudinger 1879a; Staudinger & Rebel 1901; Schoorl 1990; Yakovlev 2009a, 2010, 2011a; Yakovlev & Pljustch 2014; Yakovlev et al. 2015a).

Distribution in Iran. Arak (Markazi Province) and Semirom (Esfahan Province) (Yakovlev 2009a, 2011a) (Fig. 35E).
