- <p><b><i>Hemitriakis japanica</i> (Müller & Henle, 1839)</b></p><p>Type locality: Japan.</p><p>The five Taiwanese samples of <i>H. japanica</i> included in this analysis formed a single cluster that included previously collected samples of this species from Taiwan, Japan and Vietnam (Supplementary Material 1; Naylor <i>et al.</i>, 2012a). This cluster is closely related and sister to the <i>H. leucoperiptera</i> clade consisting of samples from the Philippines (Supplementary Material 1).</p>
