- <p>This paper is a systematic literature review of LIS professionals' knowledge and competence for the library to maintain its relevance in the existing digital world. The library has experienced many changes attributed to technology, and as a result, the skills and knowledge that employers require from LIS professionals have changed. Indeed, literature has revealed that employers are looking for a range of skills, grouped into three main categories; generic skills, personals skills, and discipline-specific skills.</p>
