Paris, 15:720.</p><p>TYPE SPECIES: <i>Simia talapoin</i> Schreber, 1774.</p><p>COMMENTS: Is a subgenus of <i>Cercopithecus</i> according to Szalay and Delson (1979), but also see Groves (1978b, 1989). A second species of <i>Miopithecus,</i> described by Machado (1969) has not yet been named; its distribution is Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon.</p>
