•
The Afroracotis (Herbuloracotis) apodosima species-group

Diagnosis. The species of this lineage have a distinctive pale mossy-green colouration, the overall habitus of the moths is much lighter than in other species-groups. In the male genitalia, the species-group is characterised by the simple, triangular, apically narrowly rounded uncus flexed ventrad and the basally rather thick, medially inflated vesica bearing a single vestigial, very weakly sclerotised, triangular cornutus at the base of the vesica ejaculatorius (in A. apodosima) whilst A. dargei sp. n. lacks a cornutus. The female genitalia morphology also displays a unique feature in the weakly sclerotised, moderately rugose cervix bursae corresponding well with the highly reduced, poorly sclerotised cornutus of the males.

Species content

Afroracotis (Herbuloracotis) apodosima (Prout, 1931) comb. n.

Afroracotis (Herbuloracotis) dargei sp. n.
