Descripción: Growth and changes in biochemical composition were studied in the marine cyanobacterium Anacystis dimidiata, collected from a mangrove environment where salinities ranged from 5 to 40ppt. The cyanobacterium showed optimum growth at 2ppt salinity. At Iow (5 ppt) and high (40 ppt) salinities the growth was slow and chlorophyll a and phycocyanin were low, whereas protein, free amino acid and free proline values were high in both low and high salinities.
