contents We construct an explicit model of inhomogeneous gravitational collapse leading to a naked singularity in which gravitational absorption is both efficient and observable. We propose that the infeasibility of graviton detection is simply a consequence of Nature's conspiracy to hide regions of strong curvature behind event horizons.
