contents This contribution presents recent cross section measurements for top quark pair production (tt) and single top quark production in association with a W boson (tW) in proton-proton collisions at the CMS experiment at LHC. For tt production, data from 2017 at a center-of-mass (CM) energy of 5.02 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 302 pb^-1 were analyzed, with a measured inclusive cross section of 62.3 +- 1.5 (stat) +- 2.4 (syst) +- 1.2 (lumi) pb, consistent with standard model (SM) predictions. The tW measurement was performed using data from 2022 with an integrated luminosity of 34.7 fb^-1 at a CM energy of 13.6 TeV, yielding a cross section of 82.3 +- 2.1 (stat) +9.9,-9.7 (syst) +- 3.3 (lumi) pb, in agreement with SM predictions. It includes also differential cross sections which are in good agreement with next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics.
