contents We construct a time-like Janus solution, which is mediated by a time-dependent dilaton field in asymptotic AdS spacetime. This solution breaks the null energy condition, but we argue that it is nevertheless useful as a toy model of holographic global quantum quench. The dual CFT is given by conformal perturbation theory, where the primary scalar operator that is dual to the bulk dilaton field is coupled with a global-quench-type time-dependent source. We compute one-point functions of the scalar operator and the stress-energy tensor, and confirm that the results are consistent with the proposed CFT picture. We also evaluate the holographic entanglement entropy for late time after the global quench, and show that the result agrees with the CFT computation. The stability of the time-like Janus solution against a scalar perturbation is also discussed.
