contents In this work, we study the dynamics of a spinning particle in pp-waves spacetimes; in particular, plane gravitational waves and impulsive shockwaves. W pay special attention to analytical considerations; this is possible due to an appropriate choice of the spin supplementary condition, various Hamiltonian formalisms (including a non-minimal one) and constants of motion associated with conformal fields. Based on these results, we establish a relation between the motions of a spinning particle in pp-waves and electromagnetic fields suggested by a gauge-gravity duality.
