contents We evaluate the M2M4 and EVM methods for real-time SNR estimation in FSO communication systems subject to deep fading. Using an experimental setup with controlled deep fading, we show that the M2M4 estimator reliably tracks the SNR profile, making it suitable for triggering transceiver adaptation.
