THE MAJOR PORTION OF THE REPORT CONSISTS OF AN ANALYSIS OF DATA AND FINDINGS WHICH INDICATE THAT THE COURSE IS A SUCCESS. EXTENSIVE TABLES PROVIDE LECTURE TOPICS, READING ASSIGNMENTS, AND TEXTS FOR THE COURSE. ALSO INCLUDED ARE A SUMMARY AND APPENDIXES LISTING THE COMMENTS OF VISITING LECTURERS AND CONSULTANTS, THE LETTER OF INVITATION TO FRESHMAN STUDENTS, AND A DETAILED OUTLINE OF THE FIRST SEMESTER UNIT, EMERGENCE OF CIVILIZATION.
