The general objectives of the manual are to indicate steps in sending and receiving messages within the Network, to suggest methods for the preparation and interpretation of annual reports, to facilitate the exchange of materials and information between libraries, to offer consistent recording and operating procedures towards the adoption of a large-scale Network service, and to suggest workflow procedures for local libraries. The manual outlines requirements for entering the Network, lists available services, gives teletypewriter and library operating instructions, and tells how to interpret computer messages. (TI) |
