  • Feasibility Study for Continuing Education of Medical Librarians. Interim Report, June 1, 1967 - January 15, 1968. Rees, Alan M. And Others Attitudes Curriculum Development Educational Improvement Feasibility Studies Hospital Personnel Institutional Environment Librarians Library Education Library Networks Library Research Medical Libraries Research Design The objective of the research described in this report is to design, implement, and evaluate educational offerings for hospital library personnel. Survey work is providing a data bank concerning the location, facilities, resources, functions, budget, services, and personnel of all hospital libraries in Ohio. These data are being supplemented with interviews of hospital personnel in order to investigate the dynamics of hospital-library relationships. The upgrading of hospital libraries may involve not only the education of hospital librarians but also some modification of the attitude of other personnel towards libraries in the hospital environment. Completion of the analysis of library operation and structure will permit the design, implementation, and evaluation of a number of educational offerings. Alternative modes of presenting these courses, such as through the closed-circuit TV facilities of the Regional Medical Program, will be investigated. (Author/CC)
