Both the winter and the summer programs were designed to give disadvantaged children remedial instruction in reading and mathematics along with the cultural aspect of study in art, music, drama, industrial arts and home economics. Classes were also offered for foreign born children. A new aspect in the summer program was the inauguration of classes for perceptually handicapped children. The report for summer 1969 also recounts the effects of the library program in the total program. Evaluation and recommendations are included.
