| contents | Instruction Manual for Catalog Production. Cataloging Library Services Library Technical Processes An instruction manual for using the catalog production system developed by the Ohio College Library Center (OCLC). The manual has a three-fold purpose: (1) to define the pack - describes the objective of the Catalog Profile Questionnaire and how to complete it, (2) to delineate request procedures - gives the membership various procedures to follow when asking for catalog cards from OCLC and (3) to describe the precoded punch cards - contains a detailed explanation for completing the precoded punch cards. This catalog production system is capable of handling the individual needs of a member library which is likely to have a number of receiving catalogs, such as public catalog, official catalog or shelf list, within its system. Cards are produced weekly when each new Machine Readable Catalog (MARC) tape is received. (NH) |
